Planting the Seed.

Single 60-minute sessions | $200

Taking the first step toward change can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Our Planting the Seed session is designed to provide families with immediate support, clarity, and practical tools to address their most pressing concerns. Whether you’re struggling with challenging behaviors, emotional regulation, communication breakdowns, or life transitions, this session serves as a starting point for growth, giving you a space to explore challenges and gain expert guidance in a compassionate, solutions-focused setting.

What to Expect in Your Session

Each family’s situation is unique, and our approach is tailored to meet your family where you are. Depending on your specific needs, we may explore topics such as:

1. Family Dynamics & Current Challenges

We begin by getting a big-picture view of your family’s experiences. This might include discussing daily routines, discipline strategies, school or behavioral struggles, sibling relationships, or emotional challenges that your child or family is facing. Parents will have the opportunity to share their concerns, and children (if present) will be encouraged to express their feelings in an age-appropriate way.

For example, if a child is experiencing frequent meltdowns or defiance, we may discuss common triggers, emotional regulation skills, and ways to adjust responses to encourage cooperation. If communication breakdowns are a concern, we might explore patterns of interaction, tone, and how to set boundaries with warmth and consistency.

2. Uncovering Root Causes & Strengths

Many behaviors are expressions of unmet needs or underlying stressors. This session will help you begin to identify patterns that may be contributing to family struggles. For example, we may explore:

  • How sleep, nutrition, and movement impact emotional regulation and behavior

  • How stressors like school pressure, social dynamics, or major transitions are affecting your child

  • Whether your child’s age-appropriate development aligns with certain behavioral patterns

  • How parenting styles and household structure might be influencing behavior and family connection

We don’t just focus on challenges—we also identify family strengths that can be built upon, recognizing what’s already working and how to reinforce positive dynamics.

3. Implementing Immediate, Research-Based Strategies

Families leave this session with at least one actionable strategy they can start using right away. Based on the concerns discussed, this may include:

  • Behavioral Tools: How to use positive reinforcement, natural consequences, and effective discipline techniques to address challenging behaviors

  • Emotional Regulation Strategies: Simple ways to help kids manage big emotions, anxiety, and frustration while also modeling calm responses as parents

  • Communication Techniques: How to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk, fostering a more connected, respectful family environment

  • Daily Routine & Structure Adjustments: Small shifts in morning, bedtime, or homework routines that can reduce stress and create predictability for kids

  • Guidance on Transitions & Difficult Conversations: If a family is going through divorce, grief, a move, or other major changes, we’ll discuss age-appropriate ways to support children through uncertainty

4. Personalized Recommendations & Next Steps

Before wrapping up, we’ll review the key takeaways from the session and discuss what next steps would best support your family. Some families may feel equipped with the tools provided, while others may decide to continue working together through a structured counseling plan. We’ll also provide additional resources or referrals if needed, ensuring you have ongoing support beyond this session.
